CIC Committees & Groups

Many CIC groups convene on a regular basis and typically fall into one of three categories:

Executive Leadership:  These groups include senior leaders at CIC member universities who govern and/or make investments in CIC activities.  More about Executive Leadership

Program Management/Task Forces: These groups are typically convened by an executive leadership group to accomplish a particular analysis or to manage a CIC project or program.  More about Program Management

Peer Groups: These groups are typically self-organizing peers from member universities who get together (virtually and/or face-to-face) to share ideas and best practices.  More about Peer Groups

How do I get to my meeting a the Big Ten Center in Chicago? Many CIC groups convene their meetings at the Big Ten Conference Center near O’Hare airport in Chicago. The Big Ten, CIC’s very close sister organization, generously allows CIC groups to use their meeting rooms on an as-available basis.  Check out general information and directions on how to get to the Big Ten Center.

How do I start a CIC peer group? If you wish to convene a group of your CIC peers for best practice and information sharing, please contact the CIC for more information and guidance. cic@staff.cic.net

Who speaks for the CIC? Only the CIC Members (Provosts) may issue statements on behalf of the CIC, or issue recommendations to the campuses. Consult the policy that outlines issuing public statements from the CIC.
