In this role, she will lead and direct large-scale library licensing efforts (in excess of $8 million per year); coordinate the work of library task forces; plan and organize conferences; and provide support for the analysis of library collections and services across the member universities.

Karen Partlow has been promoted to CIC Associate Director for Technology Collaboration (on an interim basis pending University of the Illinois Board of Trustees approval of the permanent appointment). In her new role,  Karen will continue to lead and direct efforts initiated by the Chief Information Officers, and she will take on new responsibilities for efforts supported by the Deans of Arts and Sciences to build a system to share access to courses via new technology, with an emphasis on less commonly taught languages and other unique course opportunities.

Catherine M. (Katie) Player has been promoted to CIC Assistant Director for Academic and International Collaboration. In her new position, she will continue to lead efforts related to study abroad and international issues, and to manage the traveling scholar and foreign language enhancement programs, while taking on new responsibilities related to sharing online course offerings and curriculum development among the member university campuses.

Paula A. Williams joined the CIC staff in October as Assistant to the Associate Director. Her responsibilities include supervision of accounts receivable activities and deposits, as well as human resources transactions for CIC staff.
