NEH Grant Awarded for Preservation of Railroad Materials

The CIC has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant of $393,000 to preserve materials important to scholarship dealing with U.S. railroads and their influence on American life, landscape, history and technology. Read the press release.

CIC/GE Fund Predoctoral Fellowships Awarded for Fall 2004

Five doctoral students will begin their studies this fall, thanks to the CIC/GE Predoctoral Fellowships in Business and Engineering. The grant from the GE Fund includes a stipend of $15,000 and all standard fees for the first academic year of graduate work toward the Ph.D. For more information, read the press release.

CIC Takes Collaboration to the Next Level

At their June 8, 2004 meeting, CIC Members (Chief Academic Officers) finalized the CIC’s Strategic Directions for 2004-2007. This document encapsulates the mission, vision, areas of focus and operating principles that drive the CIC. The document defines an agile approach to collaboration, allowing the CIC to respond quickly to opportunities, while supporting core CIC programs and activities. 

Want to meet “virtually” with CIC colleagues?

CIC now offers a videoconferencing service for CIC groups featuring video streaming, archiving, slideshow capabilities, and continuous presence that allows you to see all the participants on screen. The service is funded and supported by the CIC CIOs. For more information see the video conferencing flyer.
