This group includes the senior library staff responsible for systems development and operation within the CIC University Libraries. Collectively, this group is responsible for CIC-wide planning and implementation of technology-based solutions to information resource sharing.

The CIC Library Information Technology Directors, formerly known as the Automation Directors, work on information technology issues that affect research libraries. This group also has primary responsibility for the maintenance and development of the CIC Virtual Electronic Library (VEL). The LITD Group usually holds two two-day meetings each year.
